Bridge Repairs

If you have recently driven on the Hume Freeway at Chiltern, Shepparton, Seymour or Broadford, or the Goulburn Valley Highway at Tocumwal or bridges in Benalla, Tallangatta, Myrtleford, Bright or Mt Beauty, then you have driven over bridges we have strengthened or repaired for VicRoads and local government.

We undertake strengthening and repair work for steel, concrete and timber bridges.

Concrete bridges may need concrete cracks injected, patched and repaired or corrosion treatment of reinforcement. We can repair and install new expansion joints and reinstate nosings.

We fabricate steel beams and concrete pre-cast panels in our depot and crane them into place on site.

Steel bridges may need bracing, steel girders installed, flange strengthening or sandblasting and painting – we do it all.

Watt Road Bridge Repairs

In 2021, Waratah Constructions completed extensive repairs to the Watt Road Bridge that links the townships of Mooroopna and Kialla. The repair works involved the removal and replacement of kerbs, cross decking connections, girder crossbracing, long decking planks and pile walers. We also completed significant pile repair works both above and below the waterline to ensure that bridge has many more years of use. We also removed the old bridge barrier and guardrail and replaced it with newer, stronger components to make travelling across the bridge safer for everyone.

"We acknowledge Greater Shepparton City Council for taking and providing us with the drone footage, and indemnify Council and its staff and agents of any direct, indirect or consequential loss with the use of the IP"
